Awataguchi Ikkanshi Tadatsuna was originally started by the first Ikkanshi Tadatsuna who is a very famous Japanese sword blacksmith about 400 years ago, and the son of the second Ikkanshi Tadatsuna inherited the father works. Their swords are very famous unique beautiful ripple line on the blade, and their unique and beautiful metal carving at the base part of the blade. Japanese knife brand, Ikkanshi Tadatsuna has inherited their 400 years of Japanese sword making skills.
The blade is blue II steel Hongasumi style blade with the front bevel side flat portion is mirror finished. It is thinner and narrower blade than Yanagiba, so it is able to cut into ingredients easier. Octagonal shaped magnolia handle with water buffalo bolster and a fancy shaped Magnolia wood cover comes with it. It is 270mm blade but it has just 4.0oz. very light weight knife.

Fugubiki is designed for thin slice of white fish Sashimi, but it is able to use like Yanagiba, and we have to take little more care of it than Yanagiba, because it is more fragile.
