The both sides of flat portion (hira) are mirror finished, so it is hard to see Damascus pattern by the pictures, but there are Damascus pattern.

He has always checked up the blades that he has made with metal microscope. It is not only experiences. He study cutlery by science side too. This blade is Blue II Steel Damascus Blade. He usually put on Japanese style handle for the blade with Japanese woods, such as bamboo from over 100 years old house, or beautiful shaped small Japanese tree branch.
